In the first paragraph Paine writes, "Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conqured; yet we have this conclusion with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triupmh." The colonists face "hell" when living under the realm of the british government. Only God should be able to treat a person in one way or another, but at this time the king is controlling everyone. In order for the people to gain freedom they must be brave and work together, and must fight to receive the reward that will come their way. If they choose to act alone or not act at all, then they will live in "hell" all their life's. They must fight for what they believe in now, in order to live in peace and happiness for the rest of their life's.
Paine also uses slavery as an example mentioning that slavery is wrong, and what the british are going through is almost similar. I would disagree he does not mention that the slaves have no rights and are just the landlords property, he should write about slaves fighting for freedom and the struggle they go through in america having no rights.
Good detail friend. I like the analysis you had of the quote.
